Palmer Logistics Through the Years

To learn about Palmer Logistics, a look at our history from inception through present day is vital. In that time, while our name and operations have gone through some changes, our principal objective of providing quality services with a personal touch has not.

Mid-1960s

Founded as a public warehouse and trucking company primarily serving the grocery and chemical industries in the Houston, TX area under the name Palmer Distribution Services, Inc.

1982

After the passing of founder Frank Rifenschlagger, contract management of operations was assumed by Hermann Services, Inc., a New Jersey-based warehouse and transportation provider since 1927.

1988

Acquired by Hermann Services as part of a regional expansion effort; name changed to Hermann Warehouse Southwest.

2000

Hermann Services divested itself of these operations and the Palmer name was restored, although slightly altered to Palmer Logistics as it is currently known.

Today

Under the leadership of Brett Mears, son of the late William Hermann, Palmer Logistics continues to operate under the same fundamental philosophies that have driven our success since inception: Reliability, Customer Service, Uncompromising Integrity.
