Frequently Asked Questions About Palmer Logistics Warehouse Services

What goes into Palmer Logistics' pricing?

At Palmer Logistics, we have two pricing rates–Storage & Handling and Assessorial. The rates for these services are determined as follows:

Storage and Handling Rates are priced per pallet and are a function of pallet dimensions, weight, stackability, inventory turns, and volume.

Stackability: How many pallets high can the product be stacked?

Inventory Turns: How many times an SKU is expected to ship out in a given year.

Example: Inventory turns of 12 indicates an SKU will be received in and shipped out monthly (12 times a year) on average.

Volume: Total amount of inbound and outbound pallets anticipated in a given year.

Assessorial Rates cover additional value-added services needed that deviate from standard pallet-in, pallet-out logistics.

Common examples include re-palletizing, stretch wrapping, banding, labeling, loose drum picking, etc.

How does Palmer handle receiving and shipping?

For full truckload (FTL) / container (FCL) inbound and outbound shipments, Palmer Logistics requires appointments with 24 hours or more notice. We meet the industry standard of a two-hour window for unloading and loading. We also coordinate with LTL (less than truckload) carriers for customer pick-ups on outbound shipments. Additionally, cross-dock and transload services are available as needed.
